The menu at Mr Sun's Fried Bun is straightforward but packed with flavor. The star of the show, of course, is the fried bun itself. The flavors are well-balanced, offering a subtle mix of textures that complement the soft, fluffy bun.

In addition to the fried buns, Mr Sun's Fried Bun also offers an assortment of side dishes that pair perfectly with the buns. The crispy spring rolls are a great starter, offering a crunchy, savory bite before diving into the main dish. • A nicely decorated restaurant. We had the signature pork fried buns, dry noodle with pork and shallot oil, and wonton soup - my favourite being the buns and noodles. Would definitely come back again and try other dishes from their menu also. Parking was hard to find so I would suggest parking in East Village Shopping Centre and walk two blocks to the restaurant. Update: I've been coming back about once a month and the food has been delicious each time.

  • Had their signature fried buns which were juicy and delicious! The fried dough was crunchy and tasty but waaaay too pricey

  • We popped in to try their soupy fried buns. Thin-skinned and crispy, brimming with hot stock and a generous lump of seasoned minced pork. A delicious snack, albeit a tad sweet but nothing a dash of black vinegar can’t fix.

  • My friend recommended I try out your noodles and buns. I'm so glad I did! The pork and shallot oil noodles are amazing, and your signiature fried buns are incredible! Will be back for more.

  • Overall: 6/7 Only came here for their sheng jian bao as I’d heard it was authentic Shanghainese style. Coming and trying it, can confirm it gets pretty close to the real thing and is very tasty. Will be sure to come back with more people to try more of their menu, but their bao alone is worth a visit. It is slightly pricey though, but not particular more expensive than other restaurants like Taste of Shang. Sheng jian bao: 7/7 Banger. Highly rate - very close to what you can get in Shanghai, but obviously more expensive. Completely different from what you get at most places in Sydney, the skin is thin - doesn’t actually taste like a “bao zi”, the filling is very tender with an insane amount of soup inside. So much so that it sprayed across the table when I tried biting into it. Must get at this restaurant, better if you get it freshly cooked (ask for them to cook if fresh if you’re ordering a lot) and with extra crispy bases.

  • Tasty fried buns, steamed and soup dumplings. Quick efficient service. Fried buns could have been 6 rather than 4. Would recommend.
